Put-Call Ratio (PCR)
| PCR (Open Interest) | 0.83 |
|---|---|
| PCR (Volume) | 0.71 |
PCR is the ratio of put open interest to call open interest. It is a ratio and nothing more — a direct piece of arithmetic on the numbers in this chain.
Max Pain
| Max Pain Strike | 23,200 |
|---|
Max Pain is the strike where the total loss to option writers works out lowest. It is based on the current open interest in this chain. It is entirely arithmetic, and open interest changes every session.

How to Read an Option Chain
An option chain is a table that shows every strike price of a single expiry together. Call (CE) and put (PE) figures sit side by side at each strike.
Open Interest (OI) is the count of contracts currently open at that strike. LTP is the last traded price of that contract. “Chg” is the difference in OI since the previous close.
All these figures are public exchange data and they keep changing through the session. This page shows a few strikes on either side of the ATM strike, not the whole chain. It is not investment advice of any kind.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does PCR mean in an option chain?
PCR (Put-Call Ratio) is put open interest divided by call open interest. In this snapshot the Nifty 50 PCR (OI) is 0.83. It is only a ratio — a count, not a suggestion.
How is Max Pain calculated?
Every strike is treated as a possible expiry price. On the call side, the loss to writers is price minus strike. On the put side, it is strike minus price. Each is multiplied by the open interest at that strike, and the strike with the lowest total is called Max Pain. In this snapshot that is 23,200.
What is the ATM strike?
ATM (At The Money) is the strike closest to the current price of the underlying. Nifty 50 is at 23,274.15 and the nearest strike is 23,250.
How often is this page updated?
The snapshot on this page is updated every trading session. The time shown above states the moment these figures belong to — open interest keeps changing through the session.
